Providence Place Senior Living

b2ap3_thumbnail_ross.jpgPINE GROVE, October 30, 2014 - More than 100 children and their families attended the first annual safe trick or treat event hosted by Providence Place Senior Living Tuesday evening. Jodie Hertz, a coordinator of the event, said that "the attendance exceeded my expectations, especially since this is the first year it was offered." Hertz invited elementary school students of Pine Grove Area schools to participate.

"The residents who participated really enjoyed seeing the children in costume", said Hertz. A trick or treat route was marked throughout the building. Residents were seated along the hallways, in the activities room, and in the dining room where they greeted children and handed them a treat.

When the children and their families reached the end of the trick or treat route, they enjoyed festive, fall-themed refreshments with the staff and residents of Providence Place. "Based on the success of this year's event, we plan to offer it again next year", reports Hertz.
