Supportive Living for Seniors

Independent Living is an attractive lifestyle option for active seniors who don’t require assistance with their personal care or healthcare, but find reassurance in community living. Residents can maximize their independence by living in a safe and supportive community with other senior citizens.

Without the worries associated with home ownership, seniors get more enjoyment out of life. Spending time with others who share similar interests makes Providence Place residents’ lives more meaningful.

Benefits of Moving to an Independent Living Community

There are a number of benefits associated with Providence Place’s Independent Living Program. In fact, many residents say that they wish they had made the move sooner. Here’s what you can expect when you move to a Providence Place independent living community:

Help is always available in the event of an emergency. All residents have an in-room emergency call system and frequent resident checks available and a member of our staff will respond at any time of day or night.

Stop worrying about costly home maintenance! At Providence Place, you can live in your own private apartment. We’ll take care of all maintenance items for you. You’ll also have as much support as you want with chores like housekeeping and laundry.

Create new friendships and choose from a wide range of stimulating activities. Each community offers its own schedule of weekly outings, club meetings, guest speakers, and fitness groups. Enjoy life even more by pursuing your favorite hobbies!

When Is It Time for Independent Living?

Most seniors want to remain in their home if possible because it’s familiar and comfortable. At some point, however, maintaining a home can cause more stress than comfort. This is especially true for those who live alone or no longer drive. Aside from companionship, another benefit of moving to a senior living apartment is access to transportation.

Independent residents have their choice of senior apartment styles, some with full kitchens. A unique benefit of living at Providence Place is that all meals are included in the monthly cost. This means seniors have their choice of nutritious and delicious entrees for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily prepared by a trained chef using local fare.

Independent Living vs. Assisted Living or Nursing Homes

The main difference between independent living and assisted living, skilled nursing, or other types of care is the amount of support offered. Independent living facilities provide help with home maintenance, chores, transportation and meals. They usually don’t offer assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and taking medications. They also don’t offer any skilled nursing or medical care.

At Providence Place, we have a unique aging in place model. This means that our residents can start out in independent living and then add on additional senior living services when needed, including assisted living and memory support or care.

The Cost of Independent Living

Since Providence Place is a rental community, it’s surprisingly affordable. Residents pay one monthly bill, so they can anticipate their living expenses from month to month and budget accordingly. Residents can enjoy freshly prepared meals at no extra charge. Additionally, moving to a Providence Place community will eliminate home maintenance costs.

When you add up the costs of your current living situation and compare them to independent living, you may find that community living is a better value. Speak to a Director of Sales for more information about independent living costs.

Maximize your independence by moving to a Providence Place Senior Living Community. You can enhance your lifestyle by living among a community of friends. If you require more services at some point, Providence Place is prepared to provide it. And there is no need to move from your apartment. Assisted living and personal care services are offered throughout the community.
