Hummelstown, PA-Providence Place of Pottsville hosted a Fall Harvest fundraising event on Saturday, October 8, 2016. Despite the rainy weather, the event raised over $2,500 for the Alzheimer’s Association. Senior Living Advisor, Jodie Hertz coordinated the event which was open to the public. “More than 80 members of the local community came out to support this worthwhile cause” says Hertz. Since the event was scheduled to take place rain or shine, the festivities were moved indoors.
In addition to live entertainment, fall-themed foods, and a pumpkin patch, an auction was held that raised more than $1,700. Providence Place’s corporate office agreed to match another 50%, which brings the total amount raised to around $2,500.
The funds will be given to the Alzheimer’s Association in support of their fundraising campaign, “Walk to End Alzheimer’s.” Providence Place residents and staff have formed a team that plans to walk this Saturday, October 15th at the local event being held at Bubeck Park in Schuylkill Haven.
