HUMMELSTOWN, Pennsylvania-July 31, 2017- Providence Place has hired a new Director of Wellness to oversee nursing care and services at its Dover community, which is located in York County. Amber Adams, an LPN, assumed the leadership position earlier this summer. In this role, she reports to Executive Director, Howard Holben.
Adams, a Lancaster resident, earned her nursing degree from Lancaster County’s Career and Technology Center. Since graduating, Amber has worked in a variety of settings learning different aspects of healthcare. Having held positions in Personal Care, Home Health and Skilled Nursing settings, Amber has gained valuable experience in understanding and attending to seniors’ healthcare needs.
As the Director of Wellness, Ms. Adams oversees all aspects of the nursing department. She manages a team of licensed nurses and caregivers, completes assessments, and coordinates residents’ medical care with area physicians.
During a recent interview, Amber said that she prefers working in an environment where she is surrounded by a team of staff. “It’s busy, but we have a lot of fun. I like that we can have a good time with the residents while caring for them. I hope to grow with Providence Place. It’s a company that really cares about its co-workers and residents”, said Adams.
