Providence Place recently welcomed Chef Erick Melcher to its Home Office Team. As the Director of Dining Services, Erick will lead the company’s dining initiatives by providing culinary training and support to the dining teams at the company’s five senior living communities.
Chef Melcher, a graduate of Johnson & Wales University’s Culinary Arts Program, has ten years of experience in the field of food service and restaurant management. “He is a wonderful coach and mentor”, said Rick Barley, Vice President of Operations for Providence Place. “He is committed to training and developing our culinary staff.”
“Erick has spent his first weeks on the job learning our systems and evaluating our dining programs”, says David Leader, President and CEO of Providence Place. “He has been a guest at our resident dining committee meetings, and has done demonstration cooking for residents at our Chambersburg location.”
Melcher recently relocated to the area from Silver Spring, MD with his wife and family. Providence Place’s Home Office is located in Hummelstown, PA. The company, which was founded in 1998 by the Leader family, owns and operates five licensed personal care communities in the state of Pennsylvania. Providence Place offers independent living services, personal care, and memory support programs to nearly 650 area seniors.
