When she was a teenager, Janet “Jenny” Gilfillan, a native of Scotland, had a temper.
“If something didn’t go right, I’d let it fly. I wasn’t a redhead for nothing,” Janet, 88, now of Providence Place in Pottsville, said Monday.
And she made an effort to cool it with New Year’s resolutions.
“One year back in Scotland, I made a resolution to behave myself, to cool my temper, to have more patience with people. It was hard to do. I couldn’t do it. So I don’t make resolutions because I break them,” she said.
A group of seniors who reside at Providence Place said Monday that resolutions aren’t always the best way to pursue self-improvement.
“I don’t do resolutions. I just live day-by-day, and I try to live good,” Dolores Mazzuca, 88, of Pottsville, said.
